What Is Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)?
Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), sometimes referred to as metabolic dysfunction–associated steatohepatitis (MASH), is a progressive form of fatty liver disease marked by liver inflammation and damage that is not caused by alcohol use. Over time, NASH can lead to fibrosis, cirrhosis, or other serious liver complications.
NASH is commonly associated with metabolic conditions such as obesity, insulin resistance, and type 2 diabetes. Because symptoms are often minimal in early stages, many people are diagnosed only after liver damage has already begun. For this reason, continued research into treatment options is an important part of addressing NASH.
How You Can Help Advance NASH Research
At Equity Medical, we conduct NASH clinical trials focused on evaluating potential treatment options for people living with this condition. These studies are designed to assess new approaches aimed at addressing liver inflammation, disease progression, and related metabolic factors.
Our NASH studies are conducted at research centers in Kentucky and New York and are overseen by board-certified internal medicine physicians, with support from experienced research coordinators and clinical staff. If you may be eligible, our team will explain what participation involves and support you throughout the study process.

You May Be Eligible If You:
Submitting your information does not enroll you in a study. Our team will contact you to determine whether there’s a current research opportunity that may be a good fit.
